http://www.cannybill.com

Business owners, web developers and freelancers could save many hours of tedious work with the launch of a unique new web-based subscription service.

CannyBill is an online invoicing and billing system, custom-built for web designers, freelancers and small businesses. Not only will CannyBill cut your admin time in half by providing you with a simple, robust billing system which will integrate seamlessly with your current process, but the service also links in with many of the web’s most popular and widely used APIs such as Parallels Plesk, GeoTrust, Enom, Basecamp and Campaign Monitor. Sell domain names, web hosting, SSL certificates and even design packages all from within your CannyBill admin panel!

CannyBill provides a range of tools for business owners, from managing invoices to sending email newsletters, tracking sales to creating statistics and annual reports. And unlike many other online business systems, CannyBill comes with unlimited telephone & email support.

Head over to http://www.cannybill.com to find out more about our newest addition to the http://www.dpivision.com software family. The system is available in five different plans, from a free account for smaller businesses (prefect for testing out!) to a subscription-based fully comprehensive plan with unlimited use for larger businesses.

CannyBill is still in Beta (test mode) but will be launching soon when the paid plans will become available. However you can still signup for your own demo account right away!

Hope you enjoy our new product!

Soup Studio

After tirelessly trawling the Internet for the perfect ecommerce application, designer and developer Aaron Walter stumbled across Tradingeye.com.

And he has used our award-winning shopping cart to create his latest online store, http://www.soupstudios.com, for one of his clients.

Aarron said: “We looked at a lot of different ecommerce apps, but found all of them offered a poor feature set or the template system was too complex to easily integrate our design.

“Tradingeye.com provided us with the features and design flexibility to create a site that is catching our customers attention and converting sales.”

No world without Facebook

Saturday, September 13th, 2008

We live in a strange world. A world where people are currently in fear at the possibility of the world ending any time now (with the turn on of Earth’s largest Science experient to date, the Large Hadron Collider) it appears this is over-shadowed by what seems a more important argument: the new Facebook.

For the past couple of months now, Facebook has slowly been rolling out a re-design of it’s web site. However, this has caused uproar and people in their thousands have began rebelling, forming groups on Facebook petitioning against the new design, and even threatening to leave the web site altogether in favour of rivals such as MySpace and Bebo.

It’s a fickle place we live in. The Large Hadron Collider was in the news for about a day and interest soon wained when no black hole appeared as a result of the machine being turned on. The Facebook debate, however, has been in the news since before interest in the LHC peaked and has remained in the news since.

At the end of the day, Facebook will have spent a lot of money on this complete overhaul of the site. They’re not going to drop it just because a group of users have banded together and threatened to boycott the site if they’re not re-attached to their familiar old and outdated profiles. But I can garuantee: Facebook would lose more money not rolling out their redesign than if a few thousand people left the site in “disgust”. Facebook has 100 millions users. It’s akin to Bill Gates losing $1,000 on a walk to the shops: nothing.

So what are your views on the new Facebook design if you’re a part of the website? Do you like it? Dislike it? Why not let us know your views. But for now, this author is all for the new look Facebook.
